Services at NorthStar Behavioral HealthNorth Star’s facilities provide a comfortable and safe environment designed to respond to the needs of children, adolescents, and adults. We recognize that situations happen that are beyond our patient’s control. Our program at North Star Behavioral works with family and community members to help facilitate optimal growth and nurturing throughout the treatment program. Our goal is to guide each patient to a healthier lifestyle.

When a patient needs more intensive care, North Star’s locations in South-central Alaska provide a full range of services. Based on the seriousness of the situation, some patients come to the hospital for intensive short-term treatment to begin the healing process and then return home, while others need the stability of a longer-term residential treatment program to learn the skills needed for emotional and social stability and security.

North Star Residential Treatment

Our residential programs for children, adolescents, and adults provide a therapeutic milieu for a variety of diagnoses and problems including: psychotic disorders, mood disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, anxiety disorders, high risk behaviors, and fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.
